Outdoor areas

A waste collection point for outdoor areas

A waste collection point should be placed sufficiently close to a maintained driveway to make it easy for garbage lorries to empty the containers. For the sake of safety, waste containers and shelters should be located at least eight metres from the wall of a building or in a locked space so that a fire cannot spread from the containers to the building.

Voluntary cleaning of outdoor areas

Recreational properties should order an extra interchangeable platform for voluntary cleaning work, maybe jointly with a neighbour. It is most preferable to sort one type of waste onto each platform. Hazardous waste that requires more demanding treatment, such as a refrigerator, will increase the costs of recoverable cleaning waste.

Garden waste for recovery

Voluntary work in outdoor areas may generate a lot of garden waste, for example.
Twigs, raked-up plants and heavier plant waste can be used in the yard as covering material or compost soil. For larger amounts of garden waste, you should order L&T’s interchangeable platform and emptying services.

Untreated wood can also be burned

Repairs and construction of playhouses, fences and sheds, for example, may generate wood waste. It should be collected separately, which results in substantial savings compared to landfill disposal. Untreated wood can be burned in your own fireplace.
