Recycling guide for businesses

Efficient sorting of waste at the office

Recovery should be improved and the costs of landfill waste reduced through efficient sorting of waste at the office. It is most often beneficial to sort recyclable paper, recyclable office paper, burnable waste and recyclable cardboard separately at offices. Offices often generate confidential paper and other confidential material, as well as waste from electric and electronic equipment.

Successful sorting always starts as close to the origin of waste as possible. Each desk should have a sorting bin for the sorting of paper. Recyclable paper, recyclable office paper, burnable waste and any confidential documents shall be sorted in separate compartments of the bin.

Collection of biowaste and mixed waste should be arranged in staff premises and kitchens. Goods reception areas and office supply storage rooms should have separate collection of plastic films and board. Receptacles for confidential papers, recyclable office paper and normal recyclable paper should be placed at photocopying points or close to access routes.

Confidential papers should not be kept on desks

Confidential papers must not be stored on desks but should be collected directly into a locked confidential material container. Our experts can provide you with advice on corporate security and recovery in your company.

Tip

Choose products and packages for your office that are suitable for recovery after their service life and will not end up in landfills. You can reduce the amount of waste generated by purchasing products with less packaging and favouring reusable packages, for example.
